While I believe his intentions are genuine and probably quite noble, the idea of news entirely devoid of bias is flatly unrealistic. The criteria underlying his algorithm itself has biases built into it, conscious or otherwise, and that will ultimately reflect in its output. Furthermore, simply aggregating all sides of a story does not mean on arrives at the truth: plenty of bad actors can report disingenuously, and should this catch on, it would be trivial to overwhelm the algorithm with a volume of information from any one particular sector to shift the overall perception of the final story the program writes.
All that said, I hope he at least makes it far enough to demonstrate proof of concept, as this sort of factchecking cannot happen often enough in the modern media environment, it just sounds like he's spent a little too long isolated in the computer lab if he thinks he's discovered the algorithm to remove bias. Bias is not implicitly bad. Concealed or obfuscated bias is.
Finally humanity is loosing the battle against machines.
