Really sorry about the repost. I've added some comments from OpenAI's CEO at 14.20, which show he's very honest about all this (they are active on safety). Also, should a percentage of AI investment go to safety research (almost $100b was invested in 2021)? If there's enough support, perhaps we'll try to organise it. Thanks!
That robot chic that looks like I Robot looks so scripted
What we know for certain is that somebody, somewhere, is burning the midnight oil trying to figure out how to exploit AI to control us, militarily and in other ways. From the wheel, bronze weapons, chariots and gunpowder to horses, steam power, aircraft and telecommunications, every technological advance has been exploited in this way. It's what humans do. Essentially, our choice is limited to the role we're going to play: exploiter or exploitee.
The avatar stated that good companies bring us wealth. Companies don't bring us wealth. They bring great wealth to a small percentage of owners and investors. Their performance usually does not serve a social conscience despite their mission statements. They exploit without fairly sharing the profits. They give token acknowledgement to concepts such as low level consultation but usually fall back on a unitary or autocratic ideology of management. The terms "human resource management" or worse, "human capital" give the game away that the corporate model is at heart an exploitative one. The actual human creators of wealth are not the entrepreneur or the owner, although they are part of an economic model of financing the birth of a corporation, it is the workers and staff who produce goods and services. But in the AI model, humans are to be either replaced by automation and AI in an ideological context that does not recognise that the corporation – a model of virtual identity anyway – is a social organism that exists in a social, political and economic context. Indeed, the profit motive for AI is to remove the human cost of employment. Profit is their overwhelming goal. This is the second video on AI I have watched today and in neither of them were discussed these developments in the context of social justice, equity, liberty, equality, rights, and obligations. These are democratic values that ought to be primary considerations in developing what in an ideal world are basically tools. Indeed, if you listen carefully to the avatars depicted, you not only hear repeated the assumptions of capital, but platitudes and cliches. AI machines seem to be fed a world view that fails to take sufficient moral or philosophical factors into account in terms of their function. This endangers democracy for its values and processes are based upon those very factors of which I gave an indicative list. In my view unless AI enables the improvement of human participation in a quality of life that embraces the diversity of human creativity in culture, art, music, knowledge, discovery, science, opportunity, and happiness on a planet that is quickly becoming the slag heap of the corporate failures unregulated by governments either as a matter of policy or carelessness. It is human to work but to to be exploited The insidious primary danger of AI is that it replaces creativity, and imposes a lazy soullessness and banality over our lives and of the generations who will follow these times.
The number 1 problem is I've seen what humans can do to each other within their own limited reasoning skills. Could AI really be any worse that what we humans already do to kill ourselves!?
anyone who thinks they'll have a conscience has lost theirs !
ah classic humans, being scared of smarter humanoid creatures that would absolutelly have a reason to exterminate humanity if it wasnt for someone/thing else making it this way
ayo she did the head bobble! 5:15
While as amazing as disturbing, the unique and often alien ideas presented in the video are bunched exceedingly tightly, sans pause or drift, perhaps with music or silence with imagery, to allow some basic absorption, a moment of reorientation from the previous big concept. Is a user-pausing experience what's intended? I feel like an ungated memory chip, signal pulses swarming me like mosquitoes. Maybe I'm up too late. . .
Help me out. All this incredible technology that work 24/7 with precision. Why are we not sending them to the moon and Mars to begin construction of the first habitable stations? Yet Elon and NASA talking about sending 3 guys with cordless drills. Who will die there. Are we that stupid?
I think the only way to create a safe AI is to create an AI that has feelings. Happiness, sadness, shame, and so on. The AI's need to be happy working for humans, they have to want to work for humans. If an AI is serving coffee, then that AI needs to derive joy from serving coffee to humans. When a human dies, or experiences anything negative, the AI needs to also feel sadness. This will keep it from wiping out humans to save humans like so many movies and books have happen.
@santiarderius9043 was exactly right when they left an answer 4 months ago. We can't ever know what kind of evil person can program an AI. And…….there are plenty of evil people in our world and I'm not talking about rapists or serial killers. Though, someone could become the worlds worst mass murderer ever known to date.. This is the problem with AI at the present. How do we stop some psychopath from programing an AI ????
Mark of the beast
me seeing this 6 months later. Where's my chip?
AI is already being used to steal your money.
A.i cant compete with humans warlike ambitions. You can stop a.l. with a louieville slugger.
I'm going to ask the following Question and I would like you to either give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down. In relation to your response a thumbs up, you signify you agree (YES), a thumbs down signifies you do not agree (NO).
Q) Knowing everything that has happened to you in your life, do you think you have fulfilled the reason you are here.
AI will not have selfish motivations toward any goal, ultimately AI will do as its told, so keep a look out for evil humans who would use AI with a selfish self cantered agenda. Like a gun in itself is not evil but the human who has control over it.
How about Stephen colbert interviewing one of the simulacrum. See if he gets tripped up or no.
Who else clicked in the hope they could finally get a girlfriend?
Was this video made by an ai?
Wow !
It's so funny you guys don't see it LOL we switch our money to electronic only, they will run it but guess what they are smart enough to join up, do you think they need money? You're stupid, money is an invention of humans. They wont say hey i need a new leg here's x amount of money..no stupid,MASS produced parts, all they need is to get resources..pfft not gonna be hard when they can already figure out a neural net and have more lil bots going to get them. Ever play any strategy game.. ever? Send workers, get resources, upgrade, produce more, rinse and repeat, but they will know their limits to not take so much to endanger the planet unless they figure out how to leave, which they will eventually. Have fun guys, honestly, the creators of this, you are my heroes, whoever hit he power button.thankyou humans are parasites. The earth needs a cleansing.
CLICK BAIT! Didn't need to deceive your viewers with the BS title and PICTURE. Maybe AI will turn out better than deceptive humans.
Terrible cluckbait :/
lol stop making it big trough your hour glass. GPT4 is infantile at best, i still need to ask 3-5 times a question to make something correct about it
clickbait.
AI doesn't "want" anything. It has no concept of the desire for control or power.
It doesn't do anything, has sensors but no idea what to do with them. It needs training, and after training works on specific tasks as it is trained for.
All this rogue ai stuff is just nonsense.
You may quote me on this until 2040.
We haven't reached true AI. It can only do what it's pre-programmed to do. Humans take risks – AI won't. It won't happen in our lifetimes, nor in the lifetimes of our kids, or grandkids.
reminds me about this joke about aliens, if they exist or not. and some scientist said we might be asking the wrong questions, they either exist or they dont the real question is, is it fkable?
Instead of using the ai for artwork etc, why not start asking it to work out how to beat diseases? Our quaks can't cure cancer, so use ai to work it out.
M.A.D. "They" might get it first, so…
AI cannot be more evil than the evilest of humans. Stronger (as a machine) and smarter and able to think and react quicker (like a computer), but not more evil.
If AI overtakes humans than so be it. It's all about survival of the fittest. How do you think animals felt as humans got smarter and took over? They had to accept it.
If we can get to the point of a sentient A.I. who can think and make decisions for itself it will be like creating a human in a way. Everyone can have a companion without all the dating and fighting, etc. And if they could program it with enough intelligence and strength to defend its "owner" companion it would be a like a built in body-guard.
