Don’t fret, it was solely one of many panels. An all time Norwalk Havoc basic. After a peaceful begin to the match, James picks up Depth …

James was robbed. Depth charge is an angle grinder with bristles on it
depth charge won control via fear so I actually agree with the judges
Bad decision by the judges. Boo. Hiss.
Rigged!!
Depth Charge was the damage dealer
James was just wielding it.
I would give James the point in control, and possibly in aggression too. Depth charge had the power, absolutely, but it had no maneuverability and had to rely on the opponent coming in for an attack. Yeah, one wrong move and James would have been eviscerated, but James managed to out maneuver, setup, and charge Depth Charge into the side of the cage. And to top it off, James was still standing after.
Also, holy frick, the damage to the cage was insane, I'm glad there were two panels there.
Depth charge the destroyer of cages
Never imagined a bot can be so intimidating its scary to even approach it and that bot don't even got wheels 😂💀
James's strategy was the definition of Brains over Brawn (as was this whole fight)
why did the losing robot win?
James took 1 look at Depth Charge spinning up and said "hell no". If depth charge could drive it would be more insane
Don't call these things robots. Maybe remote controlled spin machines.
This was a David V Goliath situation in which James, our David, out manuveaured and out thought his opponent. Depth Charge is terrifying, but James was patient and tactical. James should have won the fight. A patient man will act, a coward refuses. James was patient and capitalize. Excellent piloting from his controller.
Didn't the creators even test it before fighting with it
The voices of two men who just saw the end of battle bot tournaments everywhere flash before their eyes in the form of a lawsuit
I'm looking at this entire chat going James should have won because DC has no control, but there's an easy analogy here: Depth Charge is the snail and James is the immortal. Jamescan do whatever it wants, but if it can't touch DC for over a hundred seconds while DC makes a snails-pace towards it by using what another commenter put as 'slowing down and speeding up to control spin while the brushes keep it moving forward', that's a DC win. Doubly so since there was no way for James to beat DC directly, so it had to push it into a wall to stop it. Even at an angle, it could still rotate and attack.
Justice for James
Depth Charge should've been disqualified for damaging the cage. If I were a referee, I'd ask the judges if Depth Charge should be disqualified for damage to the cage in a best-of-3 vote; this would be the judges' results:
Judge #1: YES
Judge #2: NO
Judge #3: YES
Result: James wins by disqualification
I love how they don't even worry about the match they just talk. Yeah, the audience is safe.
depth charge is very amazing and can destroy it's opponents. very sophisticated fight and well built robot
were judges even paying attention?
It's more like the most boring ever. Takes 2 days for them to have contact.
noone is gonna talk about the gyrocospic stabilization generated by the wepon at 2:22?
The poor minibot
James 100% won that
Then it spent 90 seconds spinning menacingly, LOL
So according to the judges, if I just throw a grenade in to the cage I win the battle? How is that any different to a mindless spinning blade? Ridiculous decision.
Who judges the judges? Very poor ruling. Judges: "Big spinny thing breaks the cage after being forced into it by a bot who's weapon is in-op. Automatic win for big scary spinny thing." Come on, really?
A game between robots should never be decided by a human judge.
But…..why ?
Just…..why?
Like f*me …dude literally has a cheat code weapon and then decides to gimp himself with a totally useless pretentious movement idea that serves absolutely no uses.
If ive got that wrong im sorry . But whats the point?
Depth charge brought a landmine to a knife fight.
Depth Charge is still more stable than a blue hair pronoun using college student.
That thing is a literal lawn mower on bristles
Depth charge is dangerous just imagine if it had better driving ability it would pretty much be unstoppable
Based off the judges decision ill be building a robot that is just a gun that shoots in circles and win easily
F
Look, if I see an 8 year old defuse a bomb I'm not going to claim the bomb won because he didn't do it fast enough. Depth Charge did nothing in this fight except flail around
0:20 the Deep Six reference
Which drug are the judges on?
Depthcharge spent the entire match slowly rotating in place, never making a move, and then is gracefully KTFO by James, and yet they still give it the win? Any destruction was unintentional, and it showed a complete lack of Agression or Control. Shameful decision.
Yikes, I'm glad I've given NHRL a hard miss given the way they've judged this one.
Thanks algorithm, but this one is being set to "do not suggest channel".
Looks like the judges were blind, stupid or corrupt.
And the Black Knight also won the swordfight in Holy Grail. 🙄
Well, they have to say that the external glass is totally totally save…
Cool video.
Typhoon II also shattered the Bomb-proof safety glass a couple of times, including against Storm II in the Series 7 Grand Final of Robot Wars.
Cheers.
I do not know if there is or is not a god out there, but there is most certainly NOT one HERE.
Look at me i won by waiting till i could push the opponent into the wall sad safe to say if death charge could move around better that other would have been mangled
I hate depth charge. Just random splitting and no thought about audience safety. Vs tactical driving and design battlebots is supposed to be.
Welp that was a waste of 6 minutes of a nearly 8 minute video. The sub 30 seconds of carnage was rad, too bad there wasn’t more of it.
